ITS WINTER SALE TIME!!!

Now is the time of year that tack shops are getting rid of all their fall/winter stuff to make room for all the spring/summer items!  Usually they use this time to dump products at super low prices, that aren't moving fast enough out of the store, or have been there for a very long time.  Take advantage of this!!!!

MOST tack shops hold sales two times a year, and these are sales you just can't miss.  So go find out when the sales are for your local tack shops are and make sure you go to them!  Most are going in right now, so hurry up and don't miss anything, because I know of two in my area that are already over :( ....sadness.

Most stores will have 20% off everything in stock, with the usual exceptions: supplements, topicals, and often times saddles (but not always!).  It can be a good time to look for a saddle because instead of having to bargain your way down to a lower price, it could already be lowered during the sale period.

So 20% off is the norm, but you'd be hard pressed to find a store that won't have items going for MUCH deeper discounts.  I've gotten plenty of things for free too as a lot of places will give you free items with every purchase, I've found that tall boot socks are an extremely common and super welcome giveaway!  and often times there will be raffles for gift baskets or saddles even!

So here is my best advice to you... you honestly never know what you will find, but for the best selection go on the first day of the sale, right when they open! (or maybe a few minutes early) Ok, so thats kind of an obvious piece of advice, but take it to heart... trust me.  A lot of times this might be on a weekday, but it *might* just be worth taking a personal day off from work.  I got a fleeceworks half pad at 50% off, they only had 4... but I was able to snag one before they were all gone off the shelf in a matter of minutes.  I have in the past gotten safety vests this way as well... which NEVER seem to go on sale at any great discount.  Its because these things usually do sell well... but for some reason or another they had to clear some stock, so on-sale they went!  Some of the bigger stores will buy things in bulk from suppliers that are in overstock, JUST for their bi-annual sales.  Its a good time to snag super high quality products for el cheapo!

Don't forget the on-line retailers!  Most of them are clearing stock as well.  Smartpak has a decent clearance section, as well as Victory Canter.  Dover claims to be having their "biggest sale ever!" although I'm never usually overwhelmed by their sales, its still worth checking out.

So for a GDF (since I forgot it IS Friday) here are some items I found on clearance on-line that are pretty super deals:

Equine Comfort Correction Half Pads - $89!

Vespucci Pony Bridle - $79!

Herm Sprenger D-ring Bit - $92 (save $40!)

For those of you who think Beval never has good sales - $900 off an almost $2k saddle

Have a good weekend everyone and HAPPY SHOPPING!!!
